About Us...

Mr. Catering & DJ (Doug)  - Spending many good years as a salesman at local businesses in Gaylord Michigan: Sunburst Marine, Comfort Centers and currently Engineered Protection Systems. His true passion is cooking. As a chef at some finer restaurants in the area like, Treetops, Big Buck, and more Doug had decided long ago to take a break from restaurant businesses. This was until he could do something on his own. Mr & Mrs Catering & DJ is that business.

Mrs Catering (Shelly) - Over the past few years she has been working as a bar/restaurant supervisor, at Gaylord`s most chosen place to eat LaSenoritas. She really enjoys working with people, has great party planning and organizational skills that will certainly make any party shine. Shelly and Doug both strive to make your grand event everything you want it to be and more.

From Our Family to Yours...

Doug and Shelly reside here in Gaylord Michigan with with our two daughters Katy 12, and Emily 9, are so excited about being a part of our new business. They are always asking what they can do to help. We even got them their own uniforms, so they can feel a part of the team.
 
We have many things planned this next year to make our business more just then a hobby. It is our goal to have great parties, happy people. With that in mind we have had tremendous growth in our business.

Weddings, Family Reunions or just getting together with some friends we can service it all, give us a call, because you know "With This Much Love The Foods Gotta Be Good!"

A Little History... (as told by Mrs. Catering)

The BIG Day:
It all started when we decided to get married on what was the most popular day ever 7-7-07.

You know women, they start planning the big day when they`re coming out of the womb. It was on a roll, I had everything done colors, flowers, maid of honor, and the invitations were being printed we decided to have an outdoor reception. Now all we have left is the Caterer and the DJ. We had no idea of the issues that were headed our way.

The Caterer:
Lets just say not much to choose from, especially here in Northern Michigan. Just like everyone else, we first looked at the restaurants for Catering. They only had set menus with set prices, Which we did not like at all.

My husband and I chose an independent caterer. Picked out our menu and what they would charge.We felt comfortable about who we chose at first. Then when our big day came and the caterers were setting up, they were dressed very unprofessional. All the food was set up in disposable dishes , with no warmers, and the food was very bland tasting on top of it.

The DJ:
When shopping around for a DJ. We ran into another problem all over, not much to choose from. The DJ we met with had sound equipment that was out dated and very pricey. We finally settled on one and gave him a deposit. A couple of weeks later we called with some questions and he would never answer or return with our calls. Guess what, we got taken for a ride. He never came out or called, and to this day still has our money.

Luckily we found someone, at the last minute. They were nice people and we got through the reception, but their music was very limited. Not very many people were dancing, and the party ended early.

This was when my new husband and I realized, there was a market for Catering and D.J. Services. We vowed from that day forward we would try to provide what people are looking for (fun), not just a set menu, with set prices. We want people to tell us what they want, we will do the rest.

Catering Services...

Our services include a 10 foot long B.B.Q Cooker, that we can pull on site. We are not limited to what we will do, if your party is big or small we can help.

No slackers, stricty Professional:
Not only will we will show up, but we will look professional and our set up is picture perfect. We also work with you on menu and price. We`re bringing catering back to the  customer, it is called Catering, Right?

DJ Services:

Were very upbeat and personable people who want your party to be rockin`. We offer top of the line sound equipment, BOSE is the name, Fun is our game. We`re not limited on music either over 50,000+ songs, with crisp clear sound, you can even hear the person next to you! Our lights are all L.E.D. and we have fog machines that will make any party complete.
